Djibi Konté, lauréat 2020 du Prix Goût d'entreprendre de la Ville de Paris, est un homme très pris par son métier de pâtissier.
Pourtant, cet artisan aux journées à rallonge m'a accordé un peu de son temps pour parler de son parcours, du Mali à Paris, de son métier, et son entreprise, la Maison Konté.

My guest for this 10th episode is Black American photographer, Rebecca Arthur. I've heard about her through the US Foundation in Paris and decided to reach out.
It was quite interesting talking to her about her work obviously, and through that getting her honest opinion on France and her experience here, especially in regards to racial dynamics and the concept of "national identity".

She was very generous in sharing about her upbringing, relationship with herself, her mother and family, and her medium. Listening back to our exchange, I felt that there is/was even more thoughts and subjects to unpack, than we had the time for, however it will hopefully drive you to reflect on yourself as well as questionning your own environment and relationships.

Don't forget to check her out, and if you are in Paris, visit her exhibition "Reimagining the Black identity" at the US Foundation through February 27th. If you get the chance to go, let me know your thoughts on Instagram.

Cette semaine, j'accueille l'artiste Franco-Malagasy, Miora Acker.
Sa dernière exposition personnelle, "Nos Belles", m'a particulièrement touchée, et j'ai voulu en faire un point central de notre échange.
"Nos Belles", ce sont ces femmes Malagasy qui vivent de la prostitution, légale et rampante sur la Grande Île.
L'artiste les raconte et les peint, comme elles le sont rarement, avec un regard bienveillant et malicieux qui permet de découvrir autrement leur quotidien, leur profession et l'envers du décor.
Je vous laisse (re)découvrir l'artiste et son travail.

I am super thrilled for this first episode in English (I was a bit nervous so my voice is a bit shaky and hesitant, so please bear with me).
Sakhile Cebekhulu is an overall designer from South Africa who's photographic work was presented at Akaa in early November for the Parisian/French scene to discover.
But there's more to him than photography. We talked fashion, furniture design, music, space travels, telling stories and being a curator for African stories and so much more. The world is not ready for his many talents (but will have to). Mark my words, he will explose in a major way soon. Enjoy our little chat!
